Bring Art Into Your Space

After decades of painting it is my experience that all authentic art creates a quiet visual space where the viewer can pause and think. A painting can condition how we think and feel. I do not seek to explain in my works, I invite conversation and dialogue.

In the natural progress of this wonderful discipline I see that every painting involves some degree of abstraction as it reflects the very personal input of the artist. Whatever the subject or style , what matters to me is that they are works that adapt emotionally to different viewers, spaces, and moments.

My Western-influenced works explore atmosphere and expressive movement. The pieces shaped by Japanese aesthetics additionally reflect restraint and spatial balance. My works are not meant as decorative although naturally they are meant to appeal to viewers. Selling art has never been my primary motivation. I paint because it is a way of thinking. If a painting helps a viewer pause and reconnect with their own thoughts, then, besides my personal satisfaction, it has achieved a positive result.
