Colour in motion

I think of this work as art that speaks quietly but with meaning. It is a space that allows us to experience the subtle interplay of light, colour and texture, all a mirror of inner states. Inspired by a dramatic interplay of colour and movement between the sea and sky, I feel a sense of awe for nature’s power. I opted for bold, short, gently circular brushstrokes to depict the sky, using a mix of deep blues, grays, and hints of red to convey movement. Various shades of horizontal blues give the painting a dynamic quality, while a simple band of sunlight on the horizon reflects the light at the top of the painting. The light filtering through the expressive cloud formation and the subtle brushwork creates a mood that lingers on even after repeated viewing.
